Intro
Today marks the launch of our jewellery brand, IceBlox.
The goal was to create genuine luxury goods inspired by some of the most notable projects, memes and references within the crypto, defi & NFT spaces.
Ironically, with all the discussion around crypto’s inherent value, IceBlox jewellery also boasts genuine, physical & tangible value in the form of precious metals and natural clear and coloured VVS diamonds.
Details
Both the YFI and SUSHI chains are made from solid white gold, and feature natural clear and coloured diamonds, all VVS clarity.
All pendant deliveries will come with a complimentary 2mm white gold Franco chain so you can rock the piece safely in style and comfort.
How It Works
The NFT sale acts as a pre-order with our jewellery manufacturer, based here in Hatton Garden, London. Once an IceBlox item is purchase via OpenSea during the sale period, you will be able to use it to redeem the physical pendant and chain associated with your NFT, shipped anywhere in the world.
The NFT sale will be live for 7 days only, and then any unsold NFTs will be burned forever, ultimately capping the scarcity of the pendants.
Each NFT can only be used to redeem 1 pendant, and claims will go live from February 1 2022 on loldefi.com.
Why YFI and SUSHI first?
Our first drop was in the form of defi OGs, Yearn and SushiSwap.
This may seem like an odd first choice of product to newer investors, but to us, they symbolise the core ethos behind decentralised finance, building to build, rather than building to monetise.
Yearn has a specific, sentimental place in my heart personally, as being the first project to welcome me into their community with open arms since the onset of the infamous “defi summer” era.
Sushi has one of the greatest origin stories of any crypto project to date, and after the super successful merch collection on our store, we thought that despite the recent Sushi community narrative, it would be the best project to compliment Yearn in the first IceBlox launch.
What’s next?
We have lots of ideas to play with following this release, both in the form of chains and other types of jewellery.
